The Role ~ Team Leader
As Occupational Therapist and Team Leader, you’ll drive day-to-day operations and build a high-performing, client-focused team that aligns with the regional business strategy. You’ll be the central support, providing guidance, fostering a positive culture, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to every client.
Caseload Expectation Based on Team Size
- Small Team (1–3 FTE): 75% caseload (30 billable hours/week)
- Medium Team (4–6 FTE or high complexity): 70% caseload (28 billable hours/week)
- Large Team (7+ FTE): 50% caseload (20 billable hours/week)
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and Inspire
- Champion the Four Corners Approach, embodying values and fostering a positive, client-centred culture.
- Encourage professionalism and holistic care within your team.
- Serve as the team’s key support for complex cases, promoting collaboration and solutions-focused thinking.
2. Talent Development
- Oversee team performance, manage recruitment, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Guide new team members through onboarding, training, and continuous professional development to build a motivated, high-performing team.
3. Build Relationships with Clients and Stakeholders
- Strengthen client and stakeholder connections through proactive networking and engagement.
- Maintain and enhance the organization’s reputation with consistent brand-building initiatives.
4. Drive Strategy and Innovation
- Contribute to the regional strategic plan and support business objectives with a focus on developing new services.
- Collaborate with management to align team goals with broader business strategies.
5. Operational Excellence
- Optimise daily schedules, caseloads, and billing to meet team revenue goals.
- Lead team meetings, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance with quality standards and contract expectations.
6. Relationship Management
- Build partnerships with GPs, DHBs, insurers, and other stakeholders to optimize client care and business growth.
7. Ensure Compliance and Cultural Safety
- Promote and uphold company policies, compliance standards, and cultural safety practices to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
